The second edition of Morpheme Magic is identical to the first edition other than the assessment component which will eventually be bound within the same book. Currently in Australia, the assessment component will be sold either by itself or with the original Morpheme Magic book.
Each lesson has its own assessment with a set of each – Suffix Assessments, Prefix Assessments, and Root (Latin and Greek) Assessments. The assessments will:  Guide teachers to know what to teach to prepare students for the assessment.  Inform teachers about how well students’ language, vocabulary, encoding, and morphological awareness is developing.  Deepen student understanding and awareness of morphology by making the assessments instructional as well.  Help students understand how well their learning about morphology is growing.
